FAQ INES Video Service.

How does a conversation start in INES?

The customer enters an INES booth or walks in front of an INES terminal and breaks through a light barrier unnoticed, which activates the system and establishes a connection to the workstation in a central customer service center.
This allows the customer to start the conversation immediately – just like in real life.

Do my customers have to be tech-savvy to use INES?

NO.
Using the system is simple and intuitive – for both customers and advisors.
The customer enters the cabin and is immediately greeted by an employee without having to log in.
The customer receives personal, competent help from the employee without having to complete any technical operating steps.
There is no PIN code, button or card reader.

Can an INES cabin also be used by two banks?

YES.
Thanks to our new IT partner, we have a software solution that is multi-bank / multi-vendor capable.
This means that two banks – e.g. a Sparkasse and a Volksbank – operate a branch together.
There is an INES booth there.
Customers enter the booth and can establish a connection to their bank’s customer service center by tapping the respective logo on the touch screen.
Or: Several companies use one booth together as a ServicePoint – we call this MAXI ServicePoint.

Why is INES a cabin and not a self-service terminal?

INES enables personal human customer contact and is not technical self-service.
We provide a confidential and discreet setting for personal banking discussions without placing another “device” in your branch.
However, we also offer a terminal version.
These INES.term and INES.wall are used for room-in-room solutions, saving you the investment of a booth.

Why don't INES cabins have a door?

We want to give every visitor to your branch uncomplicated access – just as they are used to from their branch counter.
The INES booths are acoustically optimized and thus offer a balanced combination of openness and discretion.
Generally much better than today’s open counters in bank branches.

New: With the INES.cell, we have a much smaller closed booth in our range since 2021, which, with a footprint of only 1.5 m², also fits into small foyers while providing the best acoustic shielding from nearby self-service devices.

Is INES also available as a terminal?

YES.
Since January 2021, we have also been offering a solution in conjunction with our new software provider that makes our INES.term terminal possible with a full range of services.

How much remodeling is needed in a store?

In most cases, nothing at all.
The cabins require a maximum of 2.5 x 2.5 meters of free floor space – or less – depending on the model, with power and network connections.
Nothing is bolted to the floor and no additional installations are required.
In most cases, all you need to do is move a self-service device and everything is perfect.
And if your branch strategy changes again in 5 years’ time, the cabin can be dismantled in 2 hours and reused elsewhere.

The booths also cost money - how can this improve efficiency in store operations?

A concrete practical example: You look after customers at 5 branch locations with 2 MAK employee capacity and thus offer personal service from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. continuously.
How many staff do you need for this today?
The booths represent a one-off depreciable investment and usually pay for themselves after 18 months at the latest due to the low monthly fixed costs.

Will INES save every store?

NO.
INES is not designed to maintain every location and is not intended to stop digitalization in the banking business.
But INES can help you exactly where reason (the controller) says “close the branch” – but the heart (or politics) says “we must remain present there as a regional bank”.
We see INES on the one hand as a temporary bridge solution for the cost-effective provision of personal services to people at decentralized locations in the age of increasing digitalization of banking services and on the other hand as a new added value for customers in their region or in new markets, through the possibility of integrating offers from various third-party partners.
We would be happy to inform you about completely new business model opportunities through INES Video-Service.
